Academic Success

Advocacy
Consulting and advocacy embraces your child and their unique needs. To ensure BICA can identify and specialize your child's needs, we offer a free consultation. During the consultation, we will discuss various services which may include: research, IEP, MET, data review, FBA, BIP review, etc. We may request photocopies, mileage, consultations with additional professionals as needed and observation in the educational setting.
Private Tutoring
BICA creates educational enrichment specifically designed with specialized instruction for each individual with unique needs. We utilize private tutors accessed through the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program from the Arizona Department of Education. This gives eligible parents public funding to pursue flexible options for customizing their children's education. Funding is calculated on an independent basis dependent on each student's needs.
Educator and Program Consulting
BICA offers customized training and consulting from a Master of Arts (Education) professional with over 20 years of experience building programs for individuals with special needs. We have vast experience with individuals who have chronic debilitating conditions, communication disorders, intellectual disabilities, autism, etc. We act as a consultant to help prepare a school, program, or faculty/staff to accommodate diverse needs. Fees may be billed hourly or by program as arranged.
Social Success
We go beyond the walls of learning to teach and make lifelong friendships! We build meaningful relationships to be engaged members of our community.
Extended Day Academy (ages 4+)
Before and After School Support is an extension of the academic, social-emotional, job readiness, activities of daily living and interpersonal relationship building surrounding the IEP and student's specific needs. Support is provided by special education teachers, job/behavior coaches and various staff.
We offer various activities to cultivate skills, independence and support.
BICA Social Group (ages 8-16)
Group meets every 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:00am to 2:00pm AZ time.
*Outings may require additional costs
Groups are center-based and led by a certified special education teacher focusing on interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, responsibility, personal space awareness, body language, manners and friendships. Application of skills will be demonstrated and supported in community-based activities. A light snack is provided (included in cost).
Teen C.A.N. Group (ages 11-20)
Group meets every 3rd Saturday of each month from 2:00pm to 4:00pm AZ time.

Groups are center-based and led by a certified special education teacher focusing on life skills, building life-long relationships, job skills, conflict resolution, responsibility, manners and etiquette. Groups will be teen-driven by likes and dislikes. Examples of activities include gardening, cooking, sewing, etc. A light snack is provided (included in cost).
DanceFit (ages 4+)
DanceFit occurs every Wednesday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm AZ time.
All ages and abilities welcome!
DanceFit is fun, easy to follow, iInstructor-led dancing which helps build physical strength, body awareness, musicality, gross motor skills, social skills, executive functioning, listening and following directions with awareness of self and others. This is our version of Zumba.
