Believe I Can Academy (BICA) engages families and communities to encourage and enrich the lives of individuals with different abilities. We strive to create an independent and inclusive environment to promote success in all areas including academics, workplace skills, behavior, social-emotional and home-based success.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your generous donations will help fund our mission and provide services to our students and families. Your support provides access to community experiences, scholarships, education, social-emotional and physical well-being.
"Since I was 11 years old I dreamed of owning and operating a facility that would encourage individuals with disabilities to be the very best version of themselves. On this journey, I earned a Special Education degree from Albright College and began working at a private school for special needs children. I later earned my Masters in Special Education from University of Phoenix and began teaching in public schools.
One of my dreams is to open an inclusive café, so I earned a Culinary Arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Scottsdale, AZ.
I know every child can be successful in school and their community. We're based in Tempe because we believe in our organization and our community. I love what I do and I look forward to changing the view of disabilities. Anything is possible!"
"I have been working with children as long as I can remember. I played football, basketball, baseball, threw shot put and tried just about every other sport to stay busy as a kid. I am a former employee at Tempe High School District in the Athletic Department. I enjoy working with athletes at every ability level.
I have worked with at-risk youth in low socio-economic areas helping them rebuild their social skills and create personal goals. I have also worked in private and public schools in many special education classes supporting the students and teachers with behavior management. I enjoy watching children grow, especially when they begin to utilize the coping strategies and tools we have worked so hard on."
"I'm excited to continue my love for teaching here at BICA. I have always loved dancing and I followed my passion dancing all over the world. I graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a B.A. in Dance. It has been fun watching the kids at BICA learn through movement and sign language."
